I turned 40 this year and can tell. I have an awesome family, and we actually enjoy each other. Our extended family of Sharretts are scattered all over Buford. I own a construction company in Buford that becomes significantly less productive during football season. We go to Church at Gateway in Buford where my cousin is the pastor. Our family, my parents, and my wife’s parents all live together on the same property. I love to fish, hunt, scuba dive, spearfish, explore, talk trash to my friends, coach, and talk about little league football. I love guns, German Sheppeards, and large trucks. I graduated from North Gwinnett High School in 04′ and would have punched the older version of Taylor at the time for converting to Buford.
My wife Maria and I have been married for 14 years. She is the best. We have a 13 year old son Weston Sharrett, a 11 year old daughter Hadley Sharrett, and an 8 year old son Walker Sharrett. They are all uniquely different, but all great kids.Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I’ve worked in construction since I was 15 years old. My first job was with a local builder called Veritas Homes. From there I worked at a large national GC firm building large projects until God lead me down a path to Ecker Construction where I eventually became owner. It’s a very tough industry, but the best thing about construction is the results… standing back at the end of a project and seeing what you built is pretty cool.Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Rico’s, Coastal Grille, Aquaterra, Italian Pie, and Texas Roadhouse
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
I don’t get to go that often, but probably Buford Grill. I used to eat there when I was growing up. That Golden Buddha was always a good spot too.
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Right now it’s Shane Gillis because he’s one of the funniest people I’ve ever seen and it would be a good laugh. 37 and main for wings.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
It’s the people who make it good. The community still carries the values and morals that I want to raise my kids in. Example… take the opening ceremony at the stadium… we prayed, honored good people, and honored America.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I don’t see much changing in 5 years. We will be doing literally the exact same thing we are doing now. However, in 10 years, the kids will be in college, and I’ll be begging for retirement, I’m sure. Hopefully we can go to some cool places and go fishing and hunting.
