Hello, I am Mindy Bayreuther, Chief of the Buford City Schools Police Department. I am a mother to a wonderful daughter, Shea. I am a wife to Danny Bayreuther and we just celebrated our 29 year anniversary. I am a Christian and a member of the 12 Stone – Buford campus. For hobbies, I enjoy playing tennis, pickleball, traveling, bike riding, mountain life & lake life, but most important is spending quality time with friends and family. I am a dog lover and currently have two yellow labs at home. My family loves the Buford school system, the Buford community and the traditions Buford continues to this day! Our daughter has excelled in college both academically and athletically due to the lessons learned in the BCSS from her teachers and coaches.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My daughter is Shea Bayreuther and is 22 years old. She is at UGA earning her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. My husband is Danny Bayreuther and he is also in Law Enforcement.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I have served in Law Enforcement for almost 35 years. I retired in March of 2018 after serving 30 years at the Gwinnett County Police Department. I rose to the rank of Assistant Chief before retiring. I began my career with Buford City Schools in January of 2019. I was hired to implement the School Resource Officer program for the BCSSS when the new High School was opening on Buford Highway. I previously worked security for Buford football games for many years prior to my retirement from Gwinnett County Police. I love the people I get to work with each day, serving and protecting the community and students. My SRO team and I have a passion for providing a safe and secure environment for all to enjoy.
