I moved to Buford in the spring of 1993. My intent was to find an area in which my kids could start school and finish K-12th grade without redistricting, while being close to Lake Lanier. Our realtor took us on many adventures and we found a house in Brickton Station that was what my family was looking for. Unfortunately, the house had just been sold. However, the builder was at the location and took us to look at possible lots where he could build the house we wanted. So we became Buford residents. I have been involved in Buford PTO’s in many roles from board member to president. I was team mom for my kids sports in baseball, basketball and softball in each season that they participated. I have served the Greater Buford Baseball Association and ran the GBBA concession stand for approximately 15 years. I serve on the Buford Youth Football Association board currently and have for multiple seasons. I was in the market for a job, started subbing in the schools and was offered a job as a paraprofessional at Buford Academy. I accepted that job and later became, the copy clerk, Opportunity Room clerk, sub coordinator, front desk secretary and then bookkeeper. I have worked for Buford City Schools in these roles for over 20 years. I consider Buford HOME.
