Hi, I’m Amy! I am the Sales + Event Manager at the Buford Community Center, Town Park & Theatre. I graduated from Buford High School in 2006 and obtained my degree in Marketing/Business from North Georgia College. I have worked for the city of Buford for 10 years. Thank you, Faces of Buford for featuring me on your page!
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I am the daughter of Brad and Ann Brown. I have an adorable nephew- Graham and niece- Charlotte who are the apple of my eye! I am also a dog mom to my spunky and fun rough collie, Tilly.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
After a brief stint in corporate world after college, I ended up not far from where I began. The Buford Community Center is built where my middle school used to be. The event industry is fast paced, different every day and keeps me on my toes! I love having a career that allows me to give back to the same community that poured so much into me growing up. Being a part of the success at BCC is a full circle moment for me.
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Aqua Terra is a staple in my heart! Walking into Aqua Terra always feels like home to me and will always be a favorite. There are some things in life that only bread and spread with an Aquatini can fix!
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I bleed green and gold! Born and raised in Buford. I was determined to go out into the big world and never come back after college. Life is funny like that! My life journey brought me back home and I can’t imagine living anywhere else.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
The most interesting person I’ve “met” or recently reconnected with is Emma Lloyd with Best of Buford! We actually went to high school together and reconnected once she moved back to Buford and began her journey as the face behind “Best of Buford”. I love her vibe and I feel so much more connected with our community by following her insta and rediscovering all that Buford has to offer even though I am a Buford native.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Australia 2023 baby! I have always wanted to go to Australia for the wild life, culture and ocean views. I am planning a trip for later this year so stay tuned!
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
I am Law & Order SVU fan…. Olivia Benson is my hero and I could spend an entire day binge watching. It’s a classic!
Q: What advice would you give to people?
“Stop worrying and live for today” – Matthew 6:25-27,34
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
To perform with an equestrian drill team. Rhinestone cowgirl hat and all! I need to get on that.
Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
Red Hot Chili Peppers never lets me down
Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
Buford Dairy Queen is a landmark, in my opinion. If you didn’t go by on the way home after playing ball at the ballpark in the 90’s are you really from here?!
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
I would absolutely want to go to lunch with Dolly Parton mostly because I think she’s fabulous in general and I would love to pick her brain on all the world’s problems. Obviously I would take her to Aqua Terra to see what she thinks of the bread/spread.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I love our Christmas lights! The city does an awesome job of making our city magical during the Christmas season
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Fulfilled and happy in my amazing life
Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
Oia, Greece
Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
Favorite month- October, Favorite holiday- Thanksgiving and best single day on the calendar- November 23
Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A Signature Deluxe Pedi at Frenchies… ask for Saroya
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My Granny Shirley. At almost 83 she starts each day anew and has a zest for living life to the absolute fullest and best it can be that day.

Fresh brewed coffee and a lavender candle
