Hi,
I am Kallie Ely. I graduated from Buford in 2012. My husband ,Phillip, and I met at the University of Alabama where I played softball and he played football. We have 2 beautiful little girls Raelynn and Blake.

Professionally I work a remote software job. Phillip and I started a Youth Flag football league in Buford in the Winter called Rise Flag Football. My passion is youth sports, and we are so excited to be in the community and making a difference in kids lives. We look forward to seeing the growth in our young athletes.

 

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My parents are Scott and Connie Case. My family moved to Georgia when my dad got drafted by the Atlanta Falcons before I was born. I have 2 sisters and 2 brothers. I am married to Phillip Ely and we have 2 little girls.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
My husband spent the last 7 years coaching college football. When Phillip and I first got married I was working for a nonprofit family center teaching children with troubled backgrounds. When we had our first kid I decided to be a stay at home mom and did that for 3 years. This past year after our 2nd little girl was born I then began a remote job as a software renewals representative at Idera Inc. My husband and I now run a youth flag football league at Buford called Rise Flag football.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Little Tokyo

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
My family and I just moved back to Buford at the beginning of this year! I grew up in Suwanee, GA and started going to Buford in 6th grade after I was homeschooled.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
I think Dexter Wood. He is the one who set the foundation at Buford. I think the type of person and Godly man Dexter is really changed this community for the best.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
The overwater bungalows in the Maldives

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Remember the Titans is my all time favorite movie

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Invest in people! Relationships will always be more important than money.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
Travel to Italy and Africa

Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
90’s R&B, Drake, and Morgan Wallen

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
Skate Country

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Jennie Finch a great softball player and mom. I would take her to Rico’s World Kitchen and thank her for all she did for women’s sports.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I have lived in a wide variety of states and communities. I love the small town feel that Buford has, and the opportunities here are endless.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
In Buford helping coach my girls in whatever they want to do. Being able to make a difference in the community and continuing to grow the Rise Flag football program.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
That I had open heart surgery when I was 5 days old.

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
Jamaica on our honeymoon

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
Favorite months are July and August when my girls were born and my birthday. Favorite holiday is Christmas.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
Family dinners at my moms house!

My family!

Mahogany Teakwood

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Home is wherever I am with you.
