My name is Alyssa Lamberth, and I am a Nurse Practitioner and a business owner of Luxe Aesthetics Studio in downtown Buford. As a navy brat, my family moved around a lot before settling into Sugar Hill, and later Buford, when I was in 6th grade. After attending Georgia Tech and Mercer University to obtain my Business and Nursing degrees, my husband Will and I moved to Houston for his career. I worked in critical care for years and went back to school to get another degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I found my dream job in the aesthetics industry and honed my injectable skills and artistry in a fast-paced practice in Houston. Will and I enjoyed Houston and our friends there, but it just never quite measured up to Georgia and the community we grew up in. We both wanted that same experience for our children, so we packed up and moved back in 2021. We have been so overwhelmed by how welcomed and supported we have felt by our friends, friends of friends, family, and neighboring businesses. In September, I opened my own boutique skincare and aesthetics practice, Luxe Aesthetics. It has been such a labor of love and passion, and I am beyond excited to offer the community a beautiful, unique space for self-care. A little about me – I love ice cream, coffee, fun on the lake, family game nights, watching my daughter’s softball games…and Botox!
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I am married to my North Gwinnett High School sweetheart, Will. We have two daughters Emma, who is in 3rd grade, and Harper is 2. We live in Buford with our sweet rescue pup, Leeloo. My parents, Angela and Roy Boyd, also live and work in Buford. Roy owns an engineering firm in downtown Buford, and my mother is my business partner, as well as owning her own consulting firm in dermatology pharmaceuticals.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I have always wanted to pursue a career in the medical field and be a business owner. I spent many years in the hospital setting caring for patients feeling their worst, helping them heal. I learned a lot, grew as a person and medical provider, and eventually decided it was time to do something where I get to help others feel great and have fun doing it. Medical aesthetics is the perfect combination of science, art, and joy. My job is visual in nature, and I am always striving to provide excellent results, but the real joy comes from seeing my clients so happy and confident after our visits. That’s the goal – to inspire and empower others to be bold and confident in life by helping them FEEL great.
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Tani Thai, Rico’s, Aqua Terra
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I moved to this community 25 years ago. We lived in Houston for 10 years after college for my husband’s career, but of course we came back!
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
It’s too hard to pick just one. Turks and Caicos for the beach, Costa Rica for the adventure, Italy for the food and history, Thailand for the culture and beauty
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Friends and Yellowstone. Although I mostly watch what my kids watch these days – a lot of Sesame Street and Nailed It!
Q: What advice would you give to people?
I tell my daughters this almost daily – the most important decision you make every day is your attitude.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
Running a successful business, raising strong, confident, happy daughters, and retiring with my husband on an island somewhere.
Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
Fleetwood Mac
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Dale Jones, my best friend and a fellow business owner of Meraki Photography in the community. We moved back to Buford for our friends and family, and getting to lunch more often with Dale has been so wonderful. She is witty, kind, and wicked smart. She also has a wealth of knowledge on all things leadership, arts, tech and connecting with others. You can usually find us at Aqua Terra, Rushing Trading, or Rico’s.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
It’s the small town feel, excellent schools, and loads of family friendly activities and events. This community has great restaurants, shopping, parks, and the most beautiful Lake Lanier. Everything I need is right here or super close by.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I see myself still loving all things aesthetics, running my business, spending time with my family, traveling more, and going to lots of my girl’s softball games.
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I’m obsessed with food trucks – but I rarely end up buying anything from them.
Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
Lake Louise in Canada
Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
My favorite month is October. The 4th of July is my favorite holiday. We get together for a lake weekend and put on a huge fireworks show with friends. We’ve done this every year with the same friends for over 20 years, it’s the best! Best single day ever is 10/1/2011, the day I got married.
Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A HydraFacial at my practice.
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My daughters. I want them to have an example of a woman that is smart, resilient, kind, confident and dedicated to both their career goals and family.
Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
Coffee!
Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Constant laughter, family dinners, and never ending laundry
