My name is Heath Bowman And my family has been in Buford for five generations. I have owned a business in Buford for the past 14 years. My wife also owns her own business in Buford and both of our children go to school here.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I have been married to Lindsay for 20 years and our 2 children both attend Buford. We also have 2 golden doodles and 4 cats

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?

My passion for helping people create and enjoy more usable space outside their homes has guided my career and led me to found Southeastern Underdeck. With 20 years of experience in metal fabrication and more than 10 years of experience with new product integration, we’ve grown Southeastern Underdeck into one of the top companies in the building industry in the Southeast.

In 2007, I was introduced to an underdeck system and started Southeastern Underdeck. I spent many years trying all the underdeck products I could get my hands on. In the process, I saw what I liked and disliked, and did repairs on many underdecks with problems. Using that knowledge of what worked (and what didn’t), I developed the Haven Underdeck system (Patent #9187911).

I believe the success of Southeastern Underdeck is the result of hard work and the relationships that have been developed through the North American Deck and Railing Association (NADRA), the National Association of the Remodeling Industry, and the National Association of Home Builders. These professional relationships not only introduced Southeastern Underdeck to new customers, but they also forged key partnerships with vendors needed to integrate into the building industry
