My name is Lila Lunsford. I am 17 years old, senior and I was born and raised in Buford. I am an explorer with the Gwinnett County Sheriffs Office post #699. In eighth grade, took survey, and they will give you career survey, freshman if matched and academic survey, send letter, and out will do internship and do police department. Started as freshman, gets scholarship in college, and   I have been there for 3 and a half years. I am a Sargent with the post. In charge, of big group of people and go to supervisor. In charge of Alpha Squad, reporting explorer – behavioral or grade issue.  I attend Mill Creek High School and have been all 4 years of high school.

Driving- get away and travel, go to mountains, never seen before. Roller skating, really enjoy goes to skate country, gone every since 12 years – regular, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My parents have lived in the area for their whole lives. My mothers name is Angela and she runs Lila Rae Holdings, rental properties in Buford.  My father is Ray, he manages the State Farm Insurance warehouse in Johns Creek.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
My future career is going to be Family services or Investigations. I love serving and helping people, especially in the community i am in. Always enjoyed helping people and children, especially with children who have been abused, and wants to help take them out of the situation. Investigate interests her with family services.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Friends Buford grill, Famous Joes, and Buffalos.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I have lived here for 17 years.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
Renee Unterman – She was a State Representative, grown up and lived in Buford. Mentored Lila her whole life.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Trade winds Island Resort. It always has brought me peace and happiness. Never gets old, and always goes there.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
My favorite movie is American Sniper.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Live everyday to the best you can, always treat people with love and respect, this is key to a happy life.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
I want to foster children who live in unsafe house holds.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
Skate Country

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
I would choose Mrs. Means, an owner of skate country. I used to skate there all the time and I would love to talk to her about memories. We would go to Friends.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I think that it’s cool we had an Adam Sandler movie filmed here. Blended, when I was 10 I met him in downtown Buford.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I see myself doing something to help people that are in need.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I have played the ukulele for 5 years.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My boyfriend, Justis, He Pushes me to be better, and to never look down on myself, to enjoy life, and to be myself.

Ocean, and French fries
