I am a lifelong resident of Buford, and have worked for the City of Buford Electric Department for the last twenty-seven years. I enjoy the challenges and rewards that are part of my job and am thankful for a great department of crewmen that also supports the city. I enjoy fishing, NASCAR, Georgia football, and being outdoors. My wife and I love travelling and visiting new NASCAR tracks on our trips. My greatest accomplishment is raising five successful children that make me very proud.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I have been married to my wife, Shannon, for twenty-eight years. We have five children, Zachary, Matthew, Cameron, Spencer and Jenna. We are also blessed with four wonderful daughter-in-laws, six grandchildren plus a special little girl.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I have worked as an electrical lineworker for thirty three years. I have been the Electrical Superintendent at the City for the last twenty-two years. I enjoy working in the community that I was raised in and take pride in keeping the electricity on regardless of circumstances.
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Rico’s, Chili’s, Bare Bones and Main St Deli
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I have lived here my entire life and worked for the City since 1996.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
Wayne Johnson. He is a good Christian man, a huge supporter of our community and an excellent role model to anyone.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
My favorite place would be anywhere out west. I hope to visit Yellowstone National Park to see the wildlife and the landscape in the next few years.
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Talladega Nights and any James Bond movie. I mostly watch sports on TV, such as NASCAR, Georgia football and Major League Fishing.
Q: What advice would you give to people?
Know the meaning of salvation and always be yourself.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
I would like to go small-mouth bass fishing on Lake St. Clair

Hartley’s Jewelry Store on Main St; It was my grandparents’ business
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Kirby Smart since I am a Bulldog fan, but also to hear about his work ethic and what it takes to be a champion. I would take him to Rico’s for lunch and make sure to order dessert.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
Our community has a long tradition of decorating the town for Christmas and I enjoy being a part of providing the enjoyment for our residents within my department.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I plan to be near the end of my career, fishing more, spending time with my wife, and enjoying time with my grandchildren.
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I was Vice-President of the FFA at North Gwinnett High School and would love to live on a working farm.

The Grand Tetons in Wyoming
Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
My favorite month is November, favorite holiday is Christmas and the best single day on the calendar is any Saturday that includes fishing or football.
