Born and raised in Buford, GA. I graduated Buford High School in 2007, and I got my Associates Degree in the Chrysler Automotive Program at Gwinnett Tech. I married my High School sweet heart, Nicole Cohron, and we have 2 beautiful kids Abby and Jac. I am a 4th Generation Buford Business owner, and I am proud to call Buford my home.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My family has a long history in Buford dating back to my Great Grand Father. My Grandfather Terry Cohron, graduated Buford High School in 1957 and was coached by Tom Riden. He married his high school sweet heart Susie Cohron and they been married 65 years. My Grandfather started Cohron Realty in 1975, where he still works to this day, along with my Mother, Trish Cohron, and my Wife, Nicole. I come from a very entrepreneurial family, my Grand Mother owns an interior design business where she has done many of the City of Buford buildings. My Father Wes, started Wes’ Landscape in 1990, and over 30 years later it is still in business and run by my Brother-In-Law Jacob Kennebeck. My Uncle Tracy and my Aunt Treva have both worked for themselves, and they all have instilled in me the value of hard work, what it means to represent your family name.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I have been in the automotive industry for the last 12 years, and I specialize in Jeeps. I started Black Bear Off-Road in 2018 as website selling Jeep parts, and in March of 2020 we opened our shop in Downtown Buford, on East Moreno Street. We love taking a stock vehicle and turning into our customers dream ride.
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Bravo is my favorite for lunch, Bare Bones for dinner.
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
Except for living in Kalamazoo, Michigan for 2 years, I have lived my 33 years in Buford.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
I’d have to say my Grandfather, I love listening to his stories.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Out West, I love taking my Jeep anywhere out West, specifically Utah and Colorado.
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
My favorite movie is Forrest Gump, and for TV shows, I really like automotive shows like Road Kill and Dirt Every Day.
Q: What advice would you give to people?
Live life with a purpose, and love your neighbor.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
I would like to travel to all 50 States, I have currently visited 41.
Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
People’s Bank. It’s been there my whole life, and when I go inside, I know I am going to see someone I know.
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Tony Hawk. I love his story, and his personality. I know he likes sushi, so I would probably take him to Mori House in Suwannee.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
Main Street in Historic Downtown Buford. Whether I am walking or driving down main street, it just has a great feeling. The history, the look, the great businesses, it’s the post card of what a small town, main street should look like.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I’ll still be in Buford. We plan to continually scale up our business, and hope to grow into a larger shop with a full retail space.
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
Most people are surprised to find out that I sing, I have always wanted to be a country music singer, maybe one day haha
