I am Sean Harris, originally for Fayetteville, NC. My family and I have lived in Buford, GA for 15 years. I graduated from Fayetteville State University where I was a 4-year letterman in football. I also had a short stint in training camp with the Pittsburgh Steelers. I enjoy all things sport, traveling, and mentoring/encouraging the youth of our community.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I am married to Marlo Harris, a HR Executive, and we have two wonderful children. Nia, 23, who attended BCS and is a NYU graduate that currently resides in Portland, OR and Noah, 11, a 6th grader at BMS.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I am the President of Harris & Associates CPA Firm. We specialize in Corporate Taxation, Mergers and Acquisitions with over 25 years experience. I truly enjoy the challenges of bringing together the tax footprint of separate multi-million dollar entities. We take pride in providing quality service to all of our clients, ranging from small sole-proprietorships to Fortune 500 companies. We are currently expanding our Sports Division to provide financial literacy to amateur athletes with newly enacted NIL income to join our list of professional clients. In the future we look to further into exploring our developing passion for Real Estate by expanding our company that currently manages several properties in Buford, NC, and SC.
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Marlo Harris Kitchen is my fav but, I would have to say Bare Bones and Sallies Old-Fashion Ice Cream and Treats have become two we really enjoy.
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I have lived in Buford for 15 years.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
Over the years in Buford, having the opportunity to met and speak with decedent’s of Mr. Sidney Grenard and Mr. W.A. Watson, namesake of the Grenard-Watson High School, the African-American High School in Buford. The stories and history they spoke of will always resonate with me.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
West Africa – I have been every other continent outside of Antarctica, no desire to go there
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
The Notebook, no judgement.
Q: What advice would you give to people?
To think you are better than someone else is to belittle yourself.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
Skydive out of an airplane.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
I am inspired by any and all individuals who step out on faith and start their own business.
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Jimmy Raye – I would sit on a bench on the sideline of Tom Riden Stadium eating a Eastern NC chopped BBQ sandwich ,off my smoker, talking life and sports. His accomplishments in the sport of football drove my passion.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
Small town with convenient access to the the big city.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Watching my son walk across the Buford High School graduation stage and retiring the next day.
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I love to go dancing.

The Na Pali Coast

July, Christmas, Every morning that I wake up smiling.

A perfectly smoke slab of ribs that don’t need no sauce and a ice cold one. LOL
